Why only 4 stars, if the writing was so good? Personal preference.

This book was full of emotional stress and tension. If I was in a good emotional place, I would have been able to give this book all 5 stars it surely deserves. Sadly, I am not in that place, so I look for books that are as well written as this one, but without so much action, suspense, tension, and drama.

I will be checking out this authors other books, though, to see if there is less romantic tension in them.

Great story line. Did not want to put it down. I read a lot and skip the center a lot. This one I read the entire story. Good job to author.
The aliens we meet in this book are not the fun kind that we want to meet. Think Independence Day or something along those lines. The end of this book makes this feel like a prequel to exciting things to come. I look forward to seeing what happens next.
Great book by one of the new up and coming authors on the sci.-fi romance scene. Michelle Howard keeps your attention with emotionally charged fast paced writing. Her characters are deep and likeable. Recommend highly, also recommend her other books, "Vexing Voss" and "Reality Bites" which are a series.
She makes it so believable, I can see governments doing experiments on people, to enhance them, with or without their permission. For any reason they deem necessary.
We also have Aliens attacking Earth, destroying everything in their path. Trying to take over.
I hope she wrote a series on this, it is set up for it )
I read this book in just a few hours. I simply couldn't put it down. I am becoming such a fan of Michelle Howard. Lived Honor Bound and now Project Genesis. If your a fan of sci first romance she needs to be on your reading list. Book is fast paced, great character development and great ground work for future books. I highly recommend and am placing it on my must read list of 2014.
This is my first book by the author. I am always hesitant about reading a book from an author I don't know as I worry about the content and I must say this book contained everything I enjoy about a book, humor, suspense, intrigue and romance (thankfully not the hardcore romance stuff). I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a good book. So buy, read and enjoy.
So recommend any books by this author, you won't be disappointed. For this book, it's got all the right stuff except the alpha and heroine in the book has a surface relationship that for me didn't seem deep - but in no way did this take away from the story line of this
book; for me it felt like I was half way through the book when it ended - and craved more. Still this book has all the awesomeness expected from a sci fic romance and this author!
